The story of an “empty” purse. Author: ashley |

It was a weird evening that day, although the sky was cloudy it wasn’t raining, I was the first one to enter the parking lot which was completely empty, made me wonder if it was a valet one, anyhow it wasn’t.
As I parked my car and was half way through out with my mom, I realized I forgot my sweater, therefore had to go back and collect it. Finally we brought our tickets and entered in through the Bruj Al Arab gates of the Global Village.
As soon as we passed them, the first thing which caught my attention was the washrooms, not because I wanted to power my noise or so but because there were two kinds of them, one was free and the other one paid. I started to wonder what was so unique about them so thought to have a look at it and was amazed to see the variety of perfumes, soaps and other fragrance which were available for use over there. Moreover I asked the ClEaning wOman over there whether it will cost me more to do number 2 and she replied “No ADDITIONAL charges madam”. Anyways as we were already in I thought to power my noise and we left. We took off to the Saudi Arabia Pavilion first (because it was the nearest), while I was roaming around a sales lady caught me and started testing her nail shining product on my nail, at first I didn’t showed her much interest, thanked her for entertaining me then left. Later on (which is NOW) I realize how good that product was, as half of my nail still shines while the other doesn’t, and currently I’m dieing to buy that product but can’t because I don’t have the time to go there… muff…On the other hand, coming to think of it I didn’t much enjoyed Saudi Arabia. Then we entered the Indian Pavilion, not because it was the next closest (which it wasn’t) but because it’s a tradition for every Indian that s/he HAVE to go to the Indian Privation even if you don’t have a penny to spend, and so we did and as we entered, my fist step in and a kiss of god on my check, it began to drizzle. Wohh what an entry was that, suddenly the whole crowd ran to the shades and I get to enter like a princess. After we had a look around the place, mummy brought few dresses as I brought lots of bangles, anklets, bags, shoes, a really cool shirt and few thing more (didn’t shop must actually). And as we are Indians and dam we follow the traditions, our next trip has to be that of “Pakistan” and so it was. Although in order to go there we had to cross the global river, but we didn’t hesitated because “I’M PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN”
Global River (It is located precisely in the center of global village) & divides it into two parts.)

As we crossed the bridge I saw a bunch of cute floks having their photo shot around a huge elephant next to Egypt pavilion they seemed a bit crazy actually, therefore I thought to go ahead of them and me and mummy had an “let’s pull the elephant through it’s trunk ” photo.
And finally we reach the Pakistan Pavilion, by now it stop drizzling, therefore the entrance was really crowded I suppose, anyhow we made in some how and did some shopping, by the way I brought a watch.
We spend about half an hour or so there and then our stomach ants droved us to the food court, suddenly it started to rain heavily, and all wet me and mummy, somehow managed to find a dry place to sit down, which got wet as we did.
Anyhow we ordered KFC, 2 snack boxes, and when they arrived I had tears in my eyes not because it was really cold but because KFC was so hot and spicy.
As we ate in the rain, first time in my entire life I saw Global Village completely empty, everybody was cornered against some or the other shelter pulling their hands out.
As me and mummy took off back to the parking lot on our way back I saw so many cycle carts and autos taking their passengers back to their vehicles I suppose.
Finally we made it to the car with all our shopping bags, then I somehow got them in the car and drove off.
In short, I succeed in getting my mummy purse empty.
SOME USEFUL TIPS
Global village has its FIVE major faces
*Global on wheels (rides, cabs, Indian cycle carts, Indian autos)
(Requirements: courage, confidence and the greens)
*Global Bites (food courts)
(Requirements: Empty stomach)
*Shopping
(Requirements: A fully loaded wallet only)
*Window Shopping
(Requirements: An empty wallet will do)
*Global Glitter
(Requirements: good sight eyes)

TIP of the Day:
*Take warm clothing along.
*Prepare to go on an empty stomach (if you don’t want to spark your vomit around during the ride).
*They don’t accept any sort of cards in the pavilions (although around 6 ATMs are placed on the premises) but I would advice you to fill in your WALLETS before entering the world of shopping (it really irritates to hunt the ATM again and again secondly you definately don’t want to wait in those long queues).
