Christmas on the way and I see everyone at the shopping mall not surprisingly, last moment shopping is obvious, all those rushes and last minute “oh my god, I forgot the cookies powder”, I’m not complaining after all this spicy up the event doesn’t it!!

Although you do have an alternative, why don’t you shop on-line instead, it’s far better then lining up in the counter queues, moreover it not only saves up our time but it also prevent us from rushing into the traffic jams, If you ask me I prefer sitting on my sofa having jam and watching traffic news on T.V instead (I like my jam this way better, how do you like it??)

Anyways speaking of jam, Dubai have put in great effect in cooking this year better then last year, we have great variety of sweets, cakes, cookies, chocolate, candies, lollypops, desserts, pie , puddings, fruit bars the list is endless. And the cherry on top is the “Count the Candy” game (guess the number of sweets on the tree and win Free Candy for a year long from Candy Hearts. The age limit is 12 years. First entrant with the closest count will win sweet vouchers for 12 months.) Isn’t that something!!

Furthermore, the Christmas Decorations are breath taking (take a look at the Christmas Gallary).

In addition, Santa’s Workshop at the Grrotto at mercatto mall is one of the greatest attractions this year, many activities and competitions for children will be held, every Sunday to Thursday between 5 to 9 pm, and 1 to 9 pm on Fridays & Saturdays. Even Music concert performed by children themselves will lighten up the Christmas Eve, this December 14th at 6 pm at mercatto.

Santa will also be visiting the Grotto at Mercatto and giving away gifts to the children every Thursday & Friday from 5 to 7 pm. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa by Photo One for AED 15 and receive it in a puzzle format after half an hour! When Santa’s not home, children can watch the latest kid’s DVD’s in the Grotto. That sounds fun.

Last but not the least, Christmas celebration in Dubai doesn’t end here, almost all the clubs celebrate the Christmas eve,

Party time

Main while here I sing for you,
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey
and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa’s on his way
He’s loaded lots of toys
and goodies on his sleigh
and every mother’s child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer
really know how to fly.

And so I’m offering this simple phrase
to kids from one to ninety-two
although it’s been said
many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you.
